Registration is open, and will close on Thursday, November 16th. Below is the description of enrichment classes being offered. As a reminder, registration is online only and you can register by clicking here.

Please note that the 10-week courses will be on break for two weeks during our winter break. This means that there is no enrichment the week of December 25th, or the week of January 1st.

 

Monday: Colorado Hornets Basketball Clinic
Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th Grade
Boys & girls are encouraged to register
Fee: $25.00Time: 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
Dates: Every Monday and Wednesday starting on Wednesday, November 29th and ending on Wednesday, December 20th. Please note that this is a 4-week course, the first two weeks focused on fundamentals and the second two weeks basketball scrimmage.The Colorado Hornets have been part of promoting youth growth, responsibility and leadership in Colorado for over 23 years. They challenge our players to be the best they can be on the court and in the classroom. The Hornets offer all levels of play from the beginning player to players that compete at state and national levels. Colorado Hornets are registered with JR. NBA, NAYS (National Alliance of Youth Sports) and AAU (Amateur Athletic Union).

 

Tuesday: Adventures in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)
Grades: 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Boys & girls are encouraged to register
Fee: $50.00
Time: 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Dates: Every Tuesday starting Tuesday, November 28th and ending on Tuesday, February 13th. Please note that this is a 10-week course.Go on a Wacky Escapade. Each week will feature a new challenge in Engineering, Physical, or Life Science. Create a PomPom Launcher and challenge your fellow classmates, go on a GPS treasure hunt and paint your own Geocache Treasure Rock, draw a picture of a circuit….then light a real light bulb with your drawing, become a Birder by identifying birds by their feathers, habitat, and song. We finish with a Mystery Class – sign up today to find out the topic; it will be Amazingly Fun! This hodge-podge class has something for everyone.

 

Wednesday: Ballet with Cleo Parker Robinson Dance
Grades: Kindergarten and 1st grade
Boys & girls are encouraged to register
Fee: $30.00
Time: 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Dates: Every Wednesday starting on Wednesday, November 29th and ending on Wednesday, February 14th. Please note that this is a 10-week course.When a child is young, learning new things is easier for them. They can adapt and learn more quickly than when they are older. So, once a child begins in ballet at an early age, they are not only learning a valued art form but also getting trained for the life that is ahead of them. This is just the beginning, though. As a child continues to pursue ballet, you wíll see more benefits emerging – especially when they become adolescents and into the teenage years. If your child has expressed an interest in dance, enroll them in a beginning ballet class. Ballet promotes physical strength and agility, can boost concentration, develops an understanding of music and rhythm and generates a love of movement.

 

Thursday: Cooking with Sticky Fingers
Grades: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Boys & girls are encouraged to register
Fee: $40.00
Time: 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Dates: Every Thursday starting on Thursday November 30th and ending on Thursday, February 15th. Please note that this is a 10-week course.Sticky Fingers teaches kids to prepare healthful food; and what’s more, each class includes side dishes of lessons in other academic subjects. Measuring ingredients, students learn fractions in a hands-on way. Preparing Mexican food, students will speak some Spanish. Making vegetable sushi, kids will study Japanese culture. For each class, they will create a 10-page lesson plan for chefs to follow. They incorporate safety, food knowledge, kitchen techniques, vocabulary, foreign languages, math, science, world geography and food facts about nutrition or food origin. Sticky Fingers is all inclusive and all encompassing.
