Community Contract

SOAR Charter School’s mission is to provide students of all backgrounds and performance levels with access to rigorous academic instruction and expanded opportunities. SOAR empowers children to make informed, deliberate decisions so they may lead socially responsible, productive lives.

Therefore, all adult members of the SOAR community agree to ensure that all students:

• Come to school promptly and prepared for learning.
• Complete all required class work and homework.
• Engage each other in a learning community, in accordance with SOAR’s Core Values.

As a staff member at SOAR, I promise to:

• Provide students with a safe, nurturing environment.
• Hold students to high standards and doing the best work they are capable of.
• Share information and resources with parents that will aid in student learning.
• Become at expert in the field of teaching and use the best instructional practices.
• Be direct and respectful in communication with all members of the SOAR community.

As a parent/caring adult at SOAR, I promise to:

• Work with SOAR staff to support my child's learning and development.
• Be direct and respectful in communication with all members of the SOAR community.
• Attend all required school meetings.
• Support SOAR’s behavioral policy.
• Ensure that my child wears the SOAR uniform each day.
• Ensure that my child maintains a minimum of 95% attendance and is on time each day.
• Ensure that a responsible adult picks up my child from school each day.

As a student at SOAR, I promise to:

• Participate in class.
• Arrive at school on time.
• Complete all my classwork and homework.
• Respect other peoples' bodies and feelings.
• Not interrupt other students' learning.
• Take advantage of enrichment opportunities made available.
• Follow directions given by SOAR staff.
• Wear the SOAR uniform.
• Not make excuses.
