Application Process – How it Works
SOAR is part of the Denver Public Schools SchoolChoice Enrollment Process.
Applications for Round 1 enrollment are available on January 5, 2017 and the deadline for submission is January 31, 2017 at 4:00 PM.
Families will rank their top 5 school choices. Every student is assigned to a school based on their lottery number and the order that schools are ranked on the application.
Mid-March, families are notified of their school assignment. SOAR typically has a waitlist in every grade. We encourage all of our families to apply in Round 1; to ensure that your student is included in the Round 1 lottery process.
Applications for Round 2 enrollment are available March to August, 2017. This round is for families that missed Round 1 or have changed their mind since Round 1. Round Two SchoolChoice applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no lottery involved.
If the SOAR has available space for the 2017-18 school year at the time you submit your application, your student will be approved and enrolled. If a wait-list exists, the student will be added to the end of the list
