Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Denver Public Schools (DPS) will require students in all grades (ECE–13) to keep personal communication devices turned off and put away for the entire school day.
Personal communication devices include cellphones, smart watches, wireless earbuds/earphones, personally owned tablets and laptops, and other personal electronic communication devices.
This new policy is intended to reduce distractions and create a learning environment where students can stay focused and engaged throughout the school day.
